What's good everyone?  Hope this January is getting you into good spirits.  Yeah, the weather has been shit, but the minutes of sunlight keeps expanding on the daily (as it has since December 21st), which means spring is nearing.  Yep, we'll be finally rid of the snow!

But aside from that, we got another weekend upon us, which means there are some things you should put in your weekend plans.

This Friday at the Profile Entertainment Center, Egypto Knuckles arises from his self-imposed exile to spread some of his musical favorites to tons of partygoers at the MESA (Middle Eastern Student Association) Bonanza IV (4.0).  It all goes down January 28th (TOMORROW!) at the Profile Entertainment center.  You can click on the shows page for all the pertinent info:

I still remember how the discussion went back in Summer when this album was taking shape.

"So yo, Tone, what do you want to do with this record?" I said.

"I want to do a record about getting out of a bad breakup, getting back in love, and losing it all again." Tone said.

At first, with every album idea I ask myself: "What do you want this album to say about you?"

Then when Tone presented the idea for Big Bombs of Love, I didn't know how it was going to go with most folks.  I was expecting something a little bit more oft-kilter since we had already done a concept record which was bootlegged, then sold out.  That project was Frugalis McSpiteful.

So now comes this.  ToneKrusher Smith's sophomore effort, an unabashedly emotional rollercoaster of an album about wanting love, getting it, and then its untimely demise.  All in about 33 minutes.

Produced by myself, Egypto Knuckles and Phingaz, its definitely somethin that took some adjusting and getting used to.  But we are so proud of it.  And we are proud of ToneKrusher Smith.

November has been a bit of a challenge.  I'm going to start off by saying I'm sorry.  I've been hard at work preparing many projects to launch in the coming months.  I had planned for November to be an epic month for the free sounds - but sadly it will not be.

Sup dudes and dudets?

I know it's been awhile, but rest assured we're still hard at work trying to be as bawse as Rick Ross, however we didn't get there quite yet.  But I do got some badass news updates to be posting to you kiddies so listen up!

• *Our fearless leader Egypto Knuckles is back on the MPR ArtHounds prowl.  Tomorrow he talks about his homeboy Lazerbeak and his new release, Legend Recognize Legend, as well as the dish regarding his release party for it, which goes down this Friday, October 1st, 2010.  You can take a listen here tomorrow, but be warned, it'll air live at 8:25am/CST & 4:45pm/CST as well on 91.1 KNOW (MPR's Station). 
• *A little bit of frownie-faced news reports that C.A.S.E. is on a hiatus.  Analyrical & Status Reign both came to the conclusion that they are both building their respective names in the scene, and didn't want to be buckled down with a pairing to boot.  But hey, can't hate that right? They're still at least part of BNC, and that's what matters. 
• *Analyrical is hard at work on a "Analyrical & Friends" mixtape, and in the meanwhile will be hosting The Breaks at the Blue Nile next Friday, October 8th.  Capaciti, Ecid, and many more will be there too.  So go.
• *Status Reign is busy putting the touches on his album, Brutally Honest, and working with our homeboys/poker night buddies Legend Has It and JL Magee as a supergroup called, The Super Incredibles.  He wants to come to your town.  Want to help us get him there? Email us and we'll tell you how.
• *ToneKrusher is still putting mad finishing touches on his new record, "Big Bombs of Love."  This opus about the full course of a relationship is set to debut in early-late winter, but we're still doing some hilarious things you should be checking for on our website and YouTube.  That's all coming soon, honest.
• *T.Q.D is hard at work on The Appetizer, Vol. 3....but that's all we can tell you for now.  What's that you say? A new album? We don't know anything about that.....maybe.
• *Egypto Knuckles is currently at work with a whole slew of talent locally producing new jams on the daily.  But that's all I can tell you for now too.
• *Phingaz is hard at work.  On what? If I told you, it wouldn't be so news-worthy.  But maybe it is.  Maybe I shouldn't play this back and forth.  But, enough about that.

At any rate, now you know what's happening, cause we keep our dreadlocks in a napkin ring (no Paul Barman/Deltron 3030 Collabs).

Its my birthday today - and I'm feeling SILLY.  So I'm gonna drop two Remixes on you for this month in sound!

The first is from ToneKrusher Smith's upcoming album "Big Bombs of Love"  I remixed the title track with a very famous Parliament song! (Cause Parliament is THE SHIT)  Besides, one of the worlds most famous Hip-Hop producers took over HALF of his debut full length from Parliament - so I figured its about time I did too!

To everyone out there who follows along month to month here with me!! August has been a bit crazy but here I am!!!

This month's song has been hanging out on my Computer for quite awhile now.  It was going to be part of a little 3-4 song thing I was gonna do with the BNC dudes.  But I don't think that is going to come together anytime soon - THUS - You get the jam RIGHT NOW!!
